Worlds 2020 – All teams qualified so far

With Worlds 2020 just around the corner, you may want to know what teams managed to qualify for the hottest gaming event of the year. Look no further, below is a list of all we know about the contestants so far.


JD Gaming

Zoom (Top), Kanavi (Jungle), Yagao (Mid), LoKeN (ADC), LvMao (Support), Peace (Support) Tangwa (Support)

Coaches: Homme, Renzhe, huge

JD Gaming is one of many Chinese esports organizations that made it to Worlds 2020. The company is based in Beijing and they formed their League of Legends division in 2017. Their most notable achievements this year are 1st place at LPL Spring 2020, 3-4th place at Mid-Season Cup 2020 and 2nd place at LPL Summer 2020, as well as five player awards.


Top Esports

Moyu (Top), 369 (Top), Karsa (Jungle), knight (Mid), JackeyLove (ADC), QiuQiu (Support), yuyanjia (Support)

Coach: Luo "Crescent" Sheng

Top Esports is the next Chinese team on the list. It was formed in 2017 as Topsports Gaming, and then renamed to Top esports in 2019. They have managed to secure two major wins in 2020 – at Mid-Season Cup 2020 and at LPL Summer 2020, as well as a second place at LPL Spring 2020. Their players also received several awards.

 

Suning

Coaches: Easyhoon, Fluidwind

Suning is also a China-based organization, previously known as T.Bear Gaming. Their two most notable achievements this year are: 1st place at LPL Regional Finals 2020 and 3rd place at LPL Summer 2020. They scored 3:0 in both cases.


LGD Gaming

Garvey (Top), Langx (Top), Lies (Top), Peanut (Jungle), xiye (Mid), Yuuki (Mid), Kramer (ADC), Killua (Support), Mark (Support)

Coaches: Eimy, Maizijian

LGD is another Chinese organization based in Hangzhou. They have teams in many notable esports titles. Their more significant achievements in LoL this year are: 2nd place at LPL Regional Finals 2020 and 4th place at LPL Summer 2020. Their player also secured the 3rd All-Pro Team award at LPL Spring 2020.


Fnatic

Bwipo (Top), Selfmade (Jungle), Nemesis (Mid), Rekkles (ADC), Hylissang (Support)

Coaches: Aagie, Mithy

One of the most recognized esports organizations in the world, with its headquarters in London. The company has teams in numerous esports titles. In LoL, their biggest achievements this year include 2nd place at LEC 2020 Summer Playoffs, 4th place at LEC 2020 Summer, 2nd places at LEC 2020 Spring Playoffs and LEC 2020 spring, as well as several player awards at some of these events.


MAD Lions

Orome (Top), Shadow (Jungle), Humanoid (Mid), Carzzy (ADC), Kaiser (Support)

Coaches: Jido, Kaas, Mac, Peter Dun

Conceived in 2017 as a Spanish esports club, the team opened up to the World and now includes players from many different countries. This year, they secured five awards, as well as 3rd place at LEC Spring 2020 and 4th place at LEC Summer 2020.


G2 Esports

Wunder (Top), Jankos (Jungle), Caps (Mid), Perkz (ADC), P1noy (ADC), Mikyx (Support)

Coaches: AngelArcher, Duffman, GrabbZ, Noodlez

The silver medalists of Worlds 2019. A very strong European competitor with a number of impressive achievements across many years. In 2020, they secured 1st place at LEC Spring 2020as well as a number of awards for their individual players.


DRX

Doran (Top), Pyosik (Jungle), Chovy (Mid), Quad (Mid), Deft(ADC), Keria (Support)

Coaches: Ace, Bubbling, Expession, Museong, cvMax

A South Korean team created in 2018, previously known as Kingzone DragonX and DragonX. Their achievements in 2020 include 2nd place at LCK Summer 2020, 5-6th place at Mid-Season Cup 2020, 3rd place at LCK Spring 2020 and 3-4th place at KeSPA Cup 2019. Their players also received 3 awards this year.


Rogue

Finn (Top), Inspired (Jungle), Larssen (Mid), Hans Sama (ADC), Vander (Support)

Coaches: Blumigan, fredy122

A US organization whose current team consists of Europeans. In 2020, it has achieved 3rd place at LEC Summer 2020 and 5th place at LEC Spring 2020, as well as a number of awards for their players.


DAMWON Gaming

Nuguri (Top), Canyon (Jungle), ShowMaker (Mid), Nuclear (ADC), Ghost (ADC), BeryL (Support)

Coaches: Daeny, Zefa

This South Korean team was formed in 2017 and stormed this year’s LCK Summer 2020, winning 1st place with a strong 3:0 victory. In 2020, they also achieved 5-6th place at Mid-Season Cup 2020, as well as 4th place at LCK Spring 2020. Their players also earned a number of awards with the total prize money of nearly $11.000.


Team Liquid

Impact (Top), Broxah (Jungle), Jensen (Mid), Tactical (ADC), Corejj (Support)

Coaches: Cain, Croissant, Dodo, Jatt

For some, this is probably the most recognized name in esports, founded 20 years ago in the Netherlands as a StarCraft: Brood War clan. Their LoL division achieved 3rd place at LCS Summer 2020 this year.


Team SoloMid

Broken Blade (Top), Spica (Jungle), Bjergsen (Mid), Doublelift (ADC) Treatz (Support)

Coaches: Haitham, Lustboy, Parth

This US esports organization was formed in 2009, and established their LoL team in 2011. They have a very impressive NA win history. This year, they won the LCS Summer 2020 and their players received 3 awards.


FlyQuest


Solo (Top), Santorin (Jungle), PowerOfEvil (Mid), Mash (ADC), IgNar (Support)

Coaches: Cop, Curry, Lufty

This is the next US esports organization on the list. Their two major achievements this year include 2nd places at LCS Summer 2020 and LCS Spring 2020. Looking at past years, this one has been particularly good for them so far.


PSG Talon

Hanabi (Top), River (Jungle), Tank (Mid), Unified (ADC), Kaiwing (Support)

Coaches: Bigfafa, Saroo

PSG Talon was founded in 2017 and has teams in other games as well. "Victory through Unity" is their motto and one of their present team members has the nickname Unified. The team had an impressive streak this year, winning Mid-Season Showdown 2020 and PCS Spring 2020, as well as achieving 2nd place at PCS Summer 2020.


Machi esports

PK (Top), Gemini (Jungle), M1ssion (Mid), Bruce (ADC), Koala (Support)

Coaches: Leo, Grey, 羅康銘

Machi esports is a Taiwanese LoL team founded in 2014. They had a good year, winning PCS Summer 2020, achieving 3rd place at Mid-Season Showdown 2020 and 2nd place at PCS Spring 2020.


Unicorns of Love

Boss (Top), AHaHaCiK (Jungle), Nomanz (Mid), Gadget (ADC), SaNTaS (Support)

Coaches: Invi, Sheepy, UOLdad

Known for their unconventional approaches in games, Unicorns of Love is a team with a rich history and an impressive list of achievements, both recent and past. This year, they won LCL Spring 2020 and LCL Summer 2020 (as well as last year’s LCL Summer 2019).


Rainbow7

Acce (Top), Josedeodo (Jungle), Aloned (Mid), Leza (ADC), Shadow (Support)

Coaches: Fallen, Khynm, Skin

A Latin American team with a rich history, founded in 2013. Their most recent achievements include 3rd place at LLA Opening 2020 and 1st place at LLA Closing 2020. The team was previously known as Lyon Gaming but had to rebrand.


Papara SuperMassive

Armut (Top), KaKAO (Jungle), Bolulu (Mid), Zietnot (ADC), SnowFlower (Support)

Coaches: GBM, Pades

A Turkish LoL team with its headquarters in Istanbul, founded in 2016. They won TCL Summer 2020 this year and achieved 2nd place in two major tournaments in 2019. Their player – Japone – received the All-Pro Team award at TCL Witner 2020, but left the team a few weeks later.


INTZ

Tay (Top), Yupps (Top), Shini (Jungle), Accez (Jungle), Envy (Mid), Hanor (Mid), micaO (ADC), Mills (ADC, RedBert (Support)

Coaches: Jockster, Maestro

This highly successful all-Brazilian team was founded in 2014, and the organization has squads playing other games as well. They have an impressive win history in LoL, with the latest victory at CBLOL Winter 2020.


V3 esports

Paz (Top), Bugi (Jungle), Ace (Mid), Archer (ADC), Raina (Support), Ricky (Top substitute)

Coaches: HW4NG, Son

This Asian team consists of Japanese and South Korean players and was founded in 2017. It is owned by Kobe High Tech School, located in Japan. The team had a good run this year, winning LJL Summer 2020 and achieving 3rd place at LJL Spring 2020.


Legacy esports

Topoon (Top), Babip (Jungle), Tally (Mid), Halo (Mid), Raes (ADC), Isles (Support)

Coache: Denian

A highly successful team whose history goes back to 2014. Its current roster consists of players from Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. They were highly successful this year, winning OPL Split 1 2020 and OPL Split 2 2020.


Great games ahead of us

With such a big number of promising teams, there is a whole month of excitement ahead of us with League of Legends. Players have only a few weeks left to practice, with Worlds 2020 scheduled to begin on September 25th, 2020. The new World Champion will raise the Cup on October 31st – you don’t want to miss it and neither do we!
